DSSC unveils IP-TBM project marker
The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) project marker was unveiled on June 18, 2021, in a virtual unveiling ceremony.
Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President, and Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, Project Staff of SUSTAIN-IPTBM Project 6 of DSSC, together with Dr. Mark Jude F. Trondillo, Research and Development and Extension Director of DSSC unveiled the said marker.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Fuentes said that the unveiling ceremony is a recognition of the support of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) to DSSC for the opportunity to be involved and to implement the IP-TBM Project in the college.
“I am thankful and wholeheartedly hope that this undertaking between DSSC, DOST-PCAARD, and UseP will only be the start of many more projects and programs that will bring forth knowledge and improve the competence of the faculty, personnel, and everyone involved,” Dr. Fuentes said.
Officials from partner agencies also delivered their messages during the virtual program. These were: Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora, Executive Director of DOST-PCAARRD; Dr. Anthony C. Sales, Regional Director of DOST-XI; and Engr. Filman T. Simpao, Project Leader of SUSTAIN IP-TBM Project 6 and Director of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Division (KTTD) of University of Southeastern Philippines (UseP).
The project known as SUSTAIN-IPTBM stands for Support to the University’s Strategies in Technology Acceleration Initiatives by Nurturing (SUSTAIN) the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM).
To effectively carry out intellectual property management and commercialization of technologies and knowledge derived from Research and Development activities funded by the government, the DSSC IP-TBM Team was created. The Team is headed by Dr. Trondillo; Dr. Roxas and Rio Jean R. Molina, project staff of SUSTAIN IP-TBM Project; Jade O. Caintic, Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Coordinator; and Regie D. Patagoc, Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO) Coordinator.
