DSSC QA advocates attend AACUP capability training
Academic and administrative personnel and Quality Assurance (QA) advocates of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) attended the capability training on July 13-15, 2021 via Zoom Teleconferencing.
Headed by Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President, at least 30 QA advocates from DSSC joined the Capability Training of Internal Quality Assurance Teams conducted by Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
During the 3-day virtual webinar, resource speakers from AACUP facilitated various sessions to capacitate the participants.
On July 13, 2021, Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, Chair/President of AACUP Board of Trustees and Tarlac State University President provided an overview of the Online Accreditation System and Internal Quality Assurance Unit Office. Meanwhile, Dr. Milabel E. Ho, AACUP Executive Director focused on planning, preparing, and managing the online accreditation visit.
On the second day of the training, Dr. Riceli C. Mendoza, AACCUP Trustee and Professor at University of Southern Mindanao talked about how to start off with the Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) and Levels of Online Accreditation and Rating; while Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, AACUP Trustee and Training Director for Mindanao and Caraga State University President talked about strategic planning for Quality Assurance.
Finally, on July 15, 2021, Prof. Garnette Mae V. Balacy, DSSC Quality Assurance Officer provided the Day 2 synthesis before the presentation and critiquing of Quality Assurance Plans were conducted. Engr. Clara A. Acebes, DSSC Planning and Project Development and Evaluation Office Director presented the DSSC Quality Assurance Plan to the facilitators and participants. Meanwhile, during the Closing Program, Prof. Rae Katherine D. Adona, BS Development Communication Program Head shared her impression about the 3-day capability training.
AACUP awarded Top Performing Quality Assurance Advocates. The following were the awardees from DSSC: Dr. Zandro P. Ibañez, Teresa S. Lumansoc, Ralph Jake T. Wabingga, Dr. Meliza P. Alo, Kris Kristofferson T. Tan, Dr. Amelie T. Bello, and Garnette Mae V. Balacy.

The said capability training was also participated by QA advocates from Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture, and Technology (ASSCAT) (Carla Janna B. Octora, Christine Cadiz & Jaika Banawan/BSDC Interns ).
