DDOSC, DSSC successfully conclude DRMRC 2021
Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) and Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) co-hosted the 1st Davao Region Multidisciplinary Research Conference (DRMRC 2021) on October 8, 2021 via Zoom.
With the theme “Bouncing Back Together: Strengthening Regional Research Initiatives in the New Normal,” DRMRC 2021 was organized to provide a forum for attendees to share ideas, knowledge, and experiences in order to achieve growth goals while also fostering networking amidst pandemic.
Some 300 academics, scholars, and students from different parts of the Philippines attended the DRMRC 2021.
Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera, DDOSC President and Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President delivered their inspirational messages for the participants as well as Dr. Anthony C. Sales, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region XI Director and Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XI.
The virtual conference was graced by Dr. Rhodora O. Romero-Aldemita, Director of Global Knowledge Center on Crop Biotechnology International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) as the keynote speaker of the conference.
During the plenary sessions, Dr. Maria Ana T. Quimbo, Professor at the University of the Philippines Los Baños discussed about the “Latest Trends in Education Research” while Dr. Patricia Ann J. Sanchez, Professor at the University of the Philippines Los Baños delved into the “Latest Research Trends in Water Resources Management.”
The conference had four parallel sessions that focused on the following themes: Cluster 1- Agriculture, Fishery, Environment, and Natural Resources; Cluster 2- Education and Social Sciences; Cluster 3- Entrepreneurship, Business, and Finance; and Cluster 4- Information Technology and Engineering.
From the papers submitted, a total of 32 papers were accepted for oral presentation. These papers were also evaluated for Best Presenters and Best Paper awards.
The following were the winners of the Best Presenter award:
Cluster 1: Leonel P. Lumogdang (“Green synthesis of gold nanoparticles using the extract Brown Macroalgae Sargassum polycystum (C. Agardh, 1824) collected from Malita, Davao Occidental Mindanao, Philippines”)
Cluster 2: Nessa Maureen D. Cabiles (“Lived Experiences of Female Sex Work Survivors: Basis for Proposed Intervention Program”)
Cluster 3: Mabelle Marie C. Cutara (“The Mediating Role of Proactive Personality on Peer Influence and Impulsive Buying Behavior of Generation Z Consumers: AN Explanatory Sequential Approach”)
Cluster 4: Jennelyn E. Espinueva (“Digitized Scoreboard: Its Use in the Implementation of Conditional Cash Transfer Program in One Province in the Philippines”)
Meanwhile, the following were the winners of the Best Paper award:

The DRMRC 2021 was endorsed by the CHED Region Office XI and Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC).
