DSSC hosts Davao del Sur coffee council meeting
Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) hosted the Davao del Sur Coffee Council/Stakeholders Meeting on March 9, 2023, at the DSSC Board Room.
DTI-Davao del Sur Provincial Office, through its Industry Cluster Enhancement (ICE) Program, led the meeting which was attended by coffee farmers and processors in the province, as well as representatives from government agencies and non-government organizations.
This meeting highlighted updates on the coffee industry cluster, particularly the plans, programs, and activities for 2023.
Moreover, in the afternoon session, a round table discussion was done with the finalization of the Davao del Sur Coffee Council Constitution and By-Laws; Reorganization of the Davao del Sur Coffee Council; and a discussion of the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition (PCQC) and the Philippine Coffee Expo 2023.
DTI-OIC Chief for Business Development Division, Mr. Sarry Kinoc Jr., also paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President, for any possible collaboration and partnership between the institution and the DTI-RAPID.
Present during the activity were Dr. Mark Jude F. Trondillo, DSSC Research Director; Dr. Queenie Lyn G. Almerez, Director for Extension; Dr. Graciela L. Caballero, DSSC project consultant; DTI represented by Mr. Christian A. Sanchez and Mr. Khevin Solon; representative from DOST-PSTO Mr. Rogeren R. Selma; OPAG Davao del Sur represented by Ms. Vicenta M. Bucoya; MCN-PM represented by Ms. Miraflor M. Austria; BACOFA Chairperson, Mr. Rogelio L. Gonzales; BATAFAMA President, Mr. Ernesto Salaysay; BBTAFLA represented by Ms. Susana A. Amban; TIFWA Chairperson, Mr. Rey Antic and Marketing Manager, Ms. Jicery Antic; SKSMPC Manager, Mr. Feeb Bryan Colon; and other coffee stakeholders of different LGU in the province.
