DAVAO DEL SUR STATE COLLEGE LAUNCHES EIGHT INNOVATIVE RESEARCH CENTERS TO FOSTER ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND IMPACTFUL RESEARCH

In pursuit of its vision to serve as a dynamic hub for a diverse and accomplished community of researchers and versatile academe, Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) marked a significant milestone with the ceremonial launching of its multiple Research Centers, at the DSSC Minitheater on November 6, 2023.
Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, President of DSSC, presided over the activity, alongside distinguished resource speaker Mr. Alberto N. Bandiola, PENRO Officer of PENRO DavSUr. The ceremony also saw the presence of other esteemed DSSC administrative officials, institute deans, center heads, and some students, who joined in a symbolic ribbon-cutting to officially launch these centers.
These Research Centers will play a pivotal role in spearheading the development of research proposals for funding, the formulation of policies, procedures, and reference guidelines, and ensuring the highest standards of research practice.
Moreover, they will actively engage in the collection, creation, and dissemination of research results, making them accessible to various stakeholders, including research experts, students, scholars, private individuals, government agencies, and organizations.
DSSC proudly unveiled eight Research Centers, each with a unique focus and an accomplished leader at the helm:
1. Engineered Bamboo, Research, Innovation, and Industrial Design Center (e-BRIDE) Jeanevieve Gica, Center Head
2. Coffee Research and Innovation (Core-inno) Center Regie D. Patagoc, , Center Head
3. Advanced GIS, Informatics, and Computing (AGISCOM) Research Center Marvin Lopez, Center Head
4. Agri-Aqua, Food and Natural Resources (AAFNR) Research Center Prof. Mark Jude F. Trondillo, Ph.D, , Center Head
5. DSSC Advance Research for Education, Governance, and Social Development (DARE-GSD) Center, Rikka Bianca Condes, Center Head
6. Wellness Technology, Health and Care (WelltechCare) Center Jerome Ferdinand Balaga, Center Head
7. Water Innovation & Security Education Researcher Center (WISER) Dahlia Sagrado, Center Head
8. Culture, Arts, and Humanities Development Research (CAHDRe) Center Leslie Elevado, Center Head
This strategic initiative underscores DSSC's unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and making a meaningful impact in the academic and research landscape.
