December 19, 2023 – In a landmark moment for agricultural innovation, Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) have formalized its commitment to the "Mango Tayo!" program through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Local Government Unit of Digos (LGU-Digos) and the San Roque Farmers' Association (SRFA), at the DSSC Board Room.


Under the leadership of Program Leader Engr. Eduardo F. Aquino, the "Mango Tayo!" initiative is structured around the R&E Program – Research and Extension. Spearheading Project 1 (Research) is Rhea Mae L. Perito, MSIS, while Project 2 (Extension) is led by Dr. Domingo V. Origines, Jr. This dynamic team is poised to drive forward the innovative objectives of the program, ensuring its success and positive impact on the local mango industry.


The program, aptly named "Mango Tayo!" is set to revolutionize mango cultivation and distribution, fostering sustainable practices and economic growth within the region.


"Mango Tayo!" aims to leverage digital technology to enhance the efficiency of mango cultivation, from research and development to widespread distribution. By integrating modern methodologies and fostering collaboration between government bodies and local farmers, the program aspires to propel the Davao del Sur mango industry to new heights.


Present on the ceremony were DSSC President, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, SRFA President, Mr. Joemarcel Saplagio, City Agriculturist of OCAG Digos City, Engr. Jerome S. Escobarte, and other project staff.
