The lecture helped shed light to those who lacks the knowledge on what rightful actions should be taken if they face situations that may go against the Anti-Bastos Law.
Afterwards, Mr. Alfonso C. Balansag Jr., the Division Chief of the Promotion and Advocacy Division, delved into the thought-provoking subject of Human Rights. He painted vivid pictures with his words as he gave real life examples of situations where Human Rights exists, and law may be applicable.
Throughout the activity, interactive session during open forums allowed an exchange between the speakers and attending students to present queries and get clear answers. The students were encouraged to ask when uncertain and know the privilege of their rights as they accomplish their duties as student leaders.
The activity aimed to educate and raise awareness about fundamental Human Rights principles which includes dignity, equality, and non-discrimination, and to empower the students with the knowledge of their rights and responsibilities. The session also aimed to address and combat different forms of harassment, by exploring the implications of the law.
