DSSC Conducts Impact Assessment and Evaluation of Extension Projects with Experts Insights on Effective Evaluation Strategies

To measure the effectiveness of the extension projects and to determine the significance of the changes brought about by them, Davao del Sur State College conducted an Impact Assessment and Evaluation of Various Extension Projects on March 21, 2024, at the DSSC Boardroom.
The college invited Maam Donnabelle Celebrado, GYSI Specialist, ACDI-VOCA, who is an expert in the field of project impact assessment. She highlighted the relevance of impact assessment, discussed its different forms and elements, including the most important types of impact assessment, and provided steps on designing an impact assessment plan.
Selected faculty members from each college institute participated in the activity. They are the proponents and members of the project implementers of the various extension projects in their institute. In the previous year, each institute had proposed and implemented various projects that had social, economic, health, and ecological impacts. The participants gained knowledge on crafting impact assessments, which could also be the basis for project development and other project activities.
DSSC is an extension-project-oriented institution that prioritizes the value of sustainable development in the community. Numerous projects in the community development sector have been shown to have substantial positive effects, such as greater productivity, easier access to services, and strengthened community resilience, according to impact assessments and evaluations. These successes demonstrate the value and efficacy of our continuous work to advance sustainable development and address pressing community issues. (DSSC RDE)
