DSSC wraps up Women's Month Celebration
As March draws to a close, Davao del Sur State College – Gender and Development Office led the culmination of the celebrated Women’s Month with a ‘Pinnacle Program of Women on Wellbeing’ activity at the DSSC Minitheater, on March 26, 2024.
Commencing with an opening message from the College President herself, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, women (joined by a few men) employees of DSSC actively supported the activity.
An enlightening lecture and an open forum on women’s wellbeing was delivered by resource speaker, Ms. Gladys Garcia of the Young Living Philippines. Young Living is a leading distiller and producer of essential oil and champions nature's gifts for improving overall wellbeing.
The Women of DSSC also actively engaged in a DIY crafting activity of creating natural facial serum, inhalers, and disinfectant, using different mixtures of oils produced by Young Living.
It was followed by a collaborative musical performance of the attendees led by Supervising Admin Officer, Engr. Clara Acebes, and Information Office II Jessa Mariestela Putong. It was followed a pledge of Empowerment led by Engr. Acebes, dedicated to the strong and resilient women of DSSC.
A special recognition was also accorded to the women entrepreneurs who actively supported and joined the first ever FemMale Bazaar opened in celebration of the Women’s Month.
DSSC-Sulop Extension Campus, who were unable to attend due to unavoidable schedule, also expressed their support of the celebration through a Facebook post featuring their female employees.
In her closing remarks, GAD Officer Prof. Cecile Lofranco conveyed her heartfelt gratitude for the women of the college who have actively supported the celebration for the Women's Month since day one. |
