On October 15, 2024, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges, Region XI (PASUC-XI), proudly unveiled the Dabaw Patigbabaw 2050: Regenerative Futures Plan at the Seda Hotel in Bajada, Davao City. This significant initiative represents the first regional plan of its kind among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines.
ย
ย
The plan is the result of dedicated collaboration among six member SUCs in the Davao Region: Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC); Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), Southern Philippines Agri-business & Marine & Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST); and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP).

ย
The launch was attended by the presidents and officials of the member SUCs, partner agencies, and departments, highlighting the collective commitment to this transformative initiative. The event also featured Mr. Emmanuel De Guia, Resident Futurist of the Office of Senator Pia Cayetano, whose contributions have been vital from the planโ€™s inception. He also served as the resource speaker on the Lecture-Workshop: Capacity Development on Futures Thinking Tools and Research Development.
ย
ย
PASUC-XI extends its heartfelt gratitude to Senator Pia Cayetano, former Chair of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, Innovations, and Futures Thinking. Her invaluable support has been instrumental in aligning the objectives of the SUCs and various agencies towards sustainable development.
ย
ย
The creation of the plan was guided by the Philippine Futures Thinking Society, under the leadership of Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina and was made possible with the collaborative efforts of the Technical Working Group, chaired by Dr. Daisy T. Besing from the University of Southeastern Philippines.
The Dabaw Patigbabaw 2050: Regenerative Futures plan is strategically designed to address the current and future needs of the region, emphasizing initiatives that promote sustainability and resilience. With a shared vision, PASUC-XI looks forward to fostering a more resilient, inclusive, and developed Davao Region.
