QUEZON CITY – A successful first quarter meeting of Davao del Sur State College’s Board of Trustees (BOT) took place at the Commission on Higher Education Central Office on March 25, 2025. The meeting was particularly notable as it was the first meeting presided over by CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III since assuming the chairmanship of the DSSC Board of Trustees earlier this year. Joining him was DSSC President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes as Vice-Chairperson, alongside board members representing various government agencies and DSSC internal offices.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the election of the Board of Trustee - Private Sector Representative. Dr. Delia Ayano gained the support of every board member to assume the position after her nomination as the Private Sector Representative. Immediately after her appointment, Dr. Ayano swore to office as a member of the board alongside colleagues who would help direct DSSC's strategic plans. The board meeting addressed important college-related matters dedicated to enhancing presidential authority and operational efficiency of the institution. The discussions evaluated the college's governance structure in order to establish policies for better administrative operations and institutional approaches that will enhance DSSC's position as the leading higher education facility. With Commissioner Apag’s leadership now in full swing, and the addition of Dr. Ayano in the BOT, DSSC finishes its first-quarter meeting by dedicating itself to academic leadership and institutional progress which maintains it among the elite institutions devoted to quality education and community engagement. |
