Digos City, Davao Region – Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) is sending a vibrant contingent of future educators and esteemed faculty members to Southeast Asia, marking a significant step in their internationalization efforts. Four dedicated Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) students, Nicole S. Gonzales and Marlowe T. Sumile (both specializing in Science), and Iza S. Razonable and Rogie Mae A. Villarte (both specializing in Mathematics), have been selected to participate in the 10th Batch of the SEA-Student Teacher Exchange Program. They will be immersing themselves in the educational landscape of Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) in Indonesia from April 20 to May 20, 2025.
In relation, an International Lecture Series will also be conducted at UNISSULA on April 21 - 25, 2025. The DSSC delegation consists of experts who will deliver a deep and rewarding knowledge exchange on the field of education. The lecture series, led by Dr. Cindy B. Rosil, includes Prof. Evangeline D. Pagal, Prof. Loui Jay A. Pitpit, Prof. Leslie C. Elevado, Dr. Meliza P. Alo, Prof. Eumar Jess L. Agbon, and Prof. Mary Lisley Jane R. Layson. Through their appearance at the International Lecture Series, DSSC will demonstrate their strength in the field of education to UNISSULA as well as create intellectual interactions leading to potential opportunities for further collaboration.
The educational exchange at DSSC emphasizes both international connection and teacher development through cross-border academic interactions. The dual engagement of DSSC in SEA-Student Teacher Exchange Program and International Lecture Series demonstrates its active commitment to global outreach through benefits for both student and faculty members. Earlier this year, UNISSULA also sent their delegations to DSSC with the same purpose, further highlighting the institution's dedication to building international partnerships.
The learning experience at Indonesian institutions will advance participant skills while building DSSC's role as a progressive international institution in the international territories. The members of the DSSC community wish the students along with faculty members the best of luck for an enriching international experience that lies ahead.
