April 21, 2025 - Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through its Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Office headed by Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas spearheaded the DSSC Innovation Day 2025, held at the college gymnasium, in support of the nationwide celebration of National Innovation Day.

The event highlighted the innovative outputs of students across multiple disciplines. Agribusiness students led a product pitching and exhibit, where they presented market-ready food innovations developed through their Product Development classes. Simultaneously, students from the Information Technology, Agricultural Biosystems Engineering, Agriculture, and Agribusiness programs showcased their thesis and capstone project prototypes, demonstrating practical applications and research-based solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges.

Beyond exhibition, the activity served as a platform for inquiry, knowledge exchange, and proof of concept—providing early validation for ideas emerging from the academic setting. It affirms DSSC’s commitment to integrating innovation within its curricular and co-curricular systems, not only as a pedagogical tool but as a functional pathway toward relevance in local development.

By mobilizing student research and prototype development, DSSC positions itself as a contributor to region-based innovation ecosystems, where higher education serves as both a generator of solutions and a site for testing models of inclusive, sustainable development.
