Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, President of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), took part in the Knowledge Exchange Forum with State Universities and Colleges on the Localization of the National Adaptation Plan of the Philippines 2023 to 2050. The forum, organized by the Climate Change Commission (CCC) in partnership with the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, was held on December 9, 2025, at the GT–Toyota Asian Center Auditorium in UP Diliman.
The event formed part of the eighteenth Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week. It highlighted the role of State Universities and Colleges as knowledge centers that assist local government units in climate risk assessment, research, and adaptation planning. It also featured the ceremonial signing of the Commitment to Action, which brought together SUCs, the Local Government Academy, and national partners in support of coordinated climate adaptation measures.
Dr. Fuentes’ participation reflected DSSC’s active support for national efforts that strengthen climate resilience through science-based planning and institutional cooperation. Her attendance affirmed the College’s dedication to responsible leadership and its continuing work in climate education and community engagement.
The forum advanced the goals of Climate Action (SDG 13), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) by promoting informed dialogue and collaboration among institutions working to address the growing impacts of climate change.
