Davao del Sur State College received recognition during the ICONS Awards 2025 held on December 10, 2025 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The Commission on Higher Education organized the event to honor higher education institutions that appeared in international ranking bodies and demonstrated work that supports sustainability and academic growth.

Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, President of DSSC, attended the ceremony and accepted the recognition for the College. The memorandum issued by CHED explains that the awards acknowledge institutions cited in international frameworks such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).

The citation affirms DSSC’s continuing effort to strengthen instruction, research, and institutional development. It also reflects the College’s interest in expanding its contributions to regional progress through careful planning and sustained improvement.

The recognition supports Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education (SDG 4) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) by encouraging cooperation and steady advancement within the higher education sector.
