Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) continues to strengthen its position in the field of research after securing the 2nd spot among State Colleges in the Philippines based on the 2026 Scopus Outputs ranking released by Global Health Focus (GHF) on May 19, 2026.
The ranking highlighted the research productivity of public institutes and colleges across the country through the number of research publications indexed in the Scopus database. DSSC recorded eight (8) Scopus-indexed outputs for 2026, placing the College second nationwide among state colleges and universities included in the list.
The College also posted an overall total of 37 Scopus-indexed research outputs from 2022 to 2026, reflecting its continued commitment to research development, innovation, and knowledge generation. The result demonstrates the growing contribution of DSSC faculty members, researchers, and students in producing studies that address academic, environmental, and community concerns.
This achievement is attributed to the College’s strengthened research culture through continuous faculty development, research capability trainings, collaborative research initiatives, and institutional support for publication and presentation activities. DSSC also continues to expand opportunities for student participation in research and innovation programs.
As the College sustains its momentum in research productivity, DSSC remains committed to producing relevant and impactful studies that contribute not only to academic advancement but also to community development and nation-building.
The College’s research initiatives also support several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), reinforcing the institution’s commitment to research that responds to local and global challenges.
