General Admission Policy

Davao del Sur State College implements a non-discriminatory admission policy. The following general admission policy is observed:

  1. No student shall be denied of admission to the College by reason of age, gender identity and sexual orientation, civil status, economic status, ethnicity, race, nationality, physical disability (Republic Act 9442), special need, religious belief, political affiliation or ideology upon submission of the required documents.
  2. The College reserves the right to admit or reject student/s on the basis of merit. When necessary, the College may set enrolment quota depending on the availability of resources such as faculty and other facilities.
  3. A student who graduated from the Senior High School curriculum, transferred from other reputable college institution, or wished to earn a second degree shall be eligible for admission to the programs offered by the College provided that the student has passed or complied with all the qualification requirements.
  4. Accreditation and Equivalent – Senior High School (A&E-SHS) level passers may enroll in a college program, given that the student has met the requirements of the program. However, A&E Secondary level passers from the previous Alternative Learning System (ALS) Curriculum shall be advised to enroll in a bridging program offered by the institution or other colleges.
  5. Secondary level graduates from 2016 and earlier shall be advised to enroll in a bridging program offered by the institution or other colleges.
  6. A foreign student who has complied with the requirement of the Inter-Agency on Foreign Affairs and passed the requirement of the College shall be admitted, provided that Filipino applicants have priority over them.
  7. Offices shall prioritize Persons with Disability (PWD), Senior Citizens, pregnant women and other persons with Special Needs during the admission and enrolment period as well as in all school transactions.
  8. Stakeholders shall be properly informed of the enrolment guidelines of the college. Admission and enrolment procedures are posted in conspicuous places and official social media accounts shall be utilized for online information dissemination.

A student may be admitted upon compliance of all academic and admission qualifications set forth by the College or Institute.

Note: The qualifications indicated may or may not be applied to future program offerings of the college. The program proponents shall set the qualifications for the course offered.

Admission Requirements

Admission credentials required for the enrollment of a student (Sec. 85, CMO 40 s. 2008):

Incoming First-Year Students
  • Senior High School Report Card (Form 138)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • PSA Birth Certificate (Photocopy)
  • DSSC Admission Test Result
  • Two (2) pieces passport size picture (White background, nametag with signature)
  • Medical Certificate (with X-ray, CBC, and Urinalysis results)
  • Drug Test Result (CMO No. 18 s. 2018)
  • Two (2) long brown envelopes
Transferring Students
  • Honorable Dismissal with Informative copy of Transcript of Records
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • PSA Birth Certificate (Photocopy)
  • DSSC Admission Test Result
  • Two (2) pieces passport size picture
  • Medical Certificate and Drug Test Result
  • Two (2) long brown envelopes

Returning Student Policy

Returning students (returnees) shall be considered for readmission depending on their previous scholastic performance and must have complied with all other requirements for readmission:

  • Written permission to enroll in the program they were last enrolled; and
  • Certification or Evaluation of Grades duly signed by the College Registrar.

Academic Evaluation Rules

A readmitted student who stopped schooling for three (3) years will be evaluated based on the new curriculum of the student’s course especially when a curriculum has superseded the old one. Crediting of courses will be based on the new implemented courses.

A student who has attended another institution after attending DSSC shall qualify on the same basis as the transferee.

Submit your intent to enroll online via the Student Portal. Click "Enrollment" then "Submit Intent to Enroll".

Wait for advising and subject encoding. Your department head will forward the list to the Registrar.

Wait for confirmation and receive your Certificate of Registration (COR) directly from your department.

Continuing Irregular Students (On-site)

Shifting Students (On-site)

Request Student Evaluation and Entrance Exam Scores at least 3 working days before your schedule.

Complete advising and encoding. Settle any payables at the Student Accounts and Cashier.
