DSSC Recognizes 105 LET Passers in Recognition Ceremony

Davao del Sur State College honored 105 Licensure Examination for Teachers passers during a recognition ceremony held on September 3, 2026, at the DSSC Gymnasium. The event recognized graduates of the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), with special recognition given to two national topnotchers from the college.

Dave Michael P. Guardaquibel, LPT, placed 5th in the national rankings and received Php 100,000 from the college. Mary Rose M. Demecillo, LPT, placed 8th and received Php 60,000. Both are graduates of Bachelor of Elementary Education of the College of Teacher Education.

Dr. Siverlyn M. Camposano, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome address. College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes followed with a message that was direct and personal. “One hundred five names on that list, and two of them in the national top ten. That is what happens when you trust the preparation this college gives you and the strength you carry in yourself.”

The keynote address was delivered by Mary Lisley Jane R. Layson, MAEd, herself a 2018 LET Top 10 placer, who expressed her joy and pride in celebrating the success of the newly licensed professional teachers (LPTs).

Guardaquibel, in his special message, drew the room in with a line that stayed long after he finished. “We don’t all have to fly the same way. But what matters is that we learn to trust the wings we have been given.”

Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Cindy B. Rosil, College Dean of CTEd, who congratulated the newly licensed professional teachers and encouraged them to carry forward their passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence as they begin their journey in the teaching profession.

The event supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by recognizing the academic achievement of teacher education graduates and affirming the college’s commitment to producing competent and licensed educators for the region.
