Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through its Regional Coffee Innovation Center (RCIC), is showcasing its coffee-related programs, services, and initiatives as an exhibitor at the Davao Regional Coffee Expo 2026, held on October 1–2, 2026, at Café Noventa, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.
With the theme “Brewing a Golden Future: From Farm to Community,” the two-day expo
brings together coffee farmers, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), processors, industry stakeholders, government and support agencies, and coffee enthusiasts across the region.
Through its exhibit, RCIC highlights DSSC’s initiatives supporting the coffee sector while engaging with industry stakeholders and exploring opportunities for collaboration and stronger linkages across the coffee value chain.
Dr. Regie D. Patagoc, RCIC Director, also represents the DSSC President as one of the invited institutional representatives at the regional event.
RCIC personnel are also taking part in plenary and knowledge-sharing sessions covering key areas of the coffee value chain, including nursery management, harvesting and post-harvest practices, fermentation, pest management, coffee quality, and emerging technologies.
Meanwhile, Dale Jahziel Depacaquibo, RCIC Barista, represented DSSC in the Latte Art Competition yesterday, one of the featured competitions of the expo.
RCIC’s participation provides DSSC with a platform to promote its coffee-related programs and services, strengthen industry linkages, and engage with farmers, enterprises, government agencies, and other stakeholders in the regional coffee sector. This activity supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.
