Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) serves as one of the co-organizers of the 2nd Davao Sustainable Futures Conference (DSFC) 2026, held on October 1-2 at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City.
The two-day conference brings together researchers, educators, academic leaders, and professionals from various institutions to exchange research findings, knowledge, and emerging approaches in education, technology, sustainability, language, artificial intelligence, and related fields.
The conference opened on October 1 with parallel pre-conference skills-building sessions featuring Dr. Edison Roi D. Macusi, Dr. John Lee Candelaria, Dr. Jonathan S. Cabrera, and Dr. Aleyla Escuete-De Cadiz as resource speakers.
A series of plenary talks followed, featuring Dr. Raymond Andaya, Dr. Marvin Joseph F. Montefrio, Dr. Marshaley J. Baquiano, Dr. Harley Pring, Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr., and Mr. Jonas Victor Macuto.
On the second day, DSSC faculty-researchers are participating in oral and poster presentations, presenting studies on education, language and literacy, artificial intelligence, sustainability education, indigenous knowledge, student development, and other areas of research.
The sessions provide faculty-researchers with opportunities to present their findings, engage with fellow scholars, and contribute to the broader academic discourse.
DSSC’s role as a co-organizer and participating research institution supports the College’s commitment to strengthen research and innovation, expand academic partnerships, and provide meaningful platforms for faculty-researchers to engage in knowledge exchange.
The conference contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.
