Davao del Sur State College’s research productivity can be seen in its performance in the latest 2025 University/College ranking in the region, specifically in Region 11 in the Philippines, which the Scopus database has evaluated. The College attained 9th place, a significant accomplishment in its dedication to the pursuit of more than just academic performance.
The ranking, produced jointly by Global Health Focus (GHF), ranked the universities and colleges in the area in terms of the number of published research outputs indexed in the Scopus database. The notable score of 8 posted by the College in the field of research publication speaks volumes about the commitment of its staff members and students to enhancing the pool of global knowledge.
The achievement results from DSSC’s ongoing development of research infrastructure together with its faculty development initiatives and student involvement in academic research activities. The college plans to boost its efforts by promoting more collaborations, increasing access to research funding, and expanding its research programs to keep up its momentum and achieve higher positions in future rankings.
DSSC research projects and their various initiatives seem to be very much consistent and in harmony with the globally set sustainable development goals, where those research projects cover aspects like a quality education goal (SDG 4), sustainable city and community (SDG 11), and climate action (SDG 13), among others, enabling the academic mission to be relevant in addressing societal issues and global societies.
