DSSC Recognized Polvo Bites as NextGen Ag-Athon Awardee

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) recognized Polvo Bites as the awardee of the NextGen Ag-Athon Program 2025, during a simple awarding ceremony held at the Office of the President, on March 18, 2026.

The team behind the enterprise is composed of students from DSSC Agri-Business Program, Danissa Corpus, AV Kaye Oguit, Rosemarie Castillano, Rosa Rafaelah Dela Cruz, and their mentor Instr. Aljun Nilo.

Polvo Bites produces polvoron using alternative flours made from local crops and underutilized fruit seeds, offering a healthier take on familiar childhood snacks.

As part of the recognition, the team was awarded with a Fifty thousand pesos (Php.50, 000) cash grant to start up their business operations.

The award was handed over by the College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, with the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Director Dr. Cherry Ann Roxas, and KTTO Coordinator Wilmar Labanon as witnesses.

Fostering innovation and developing future agripreneurs, this initiative of DSSC supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 12 ( Responsible Consumption and Production).
