Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) visited Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) on October 22, 2026, to learn about the College’s policies and procedures on faculty chain promotion.
The delegation, led by Dr. Edito B. Sumile, DOrSU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, comprised faculty members and representatives from Human Resource Development Services who sought information on the guidelines, evaluation criteria, documentary requirements, and approval process for faculty promotion.
DOrSU President Dr. Roy A. Ponce requested the visit as the university develops its own institutional guidelines in line with CHED Joint Circular No. 3, series of 2022. The delegation also sought to understand how the offices and committees involved coordinate the process and address implementation challenges.
Following the benchmarking activity, the delegation visited DSSC’s Regional Coffee Innovation Center (RCIC) and Museum to learn more about the College’s research and innovation initiatives.
The visit gave the two state higher education institutions an opportunity to exchange practices on faculty promotion and institutional policy development.
The activity supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) through faculty development and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through knowledge-sharing between higher education institutions.
