Davao del Sur State College served as sponsor of the Provincial Capitol’s Monday Convocation held on March 23, 2026, at the Davao del Sur Coliseum, Gov. Douglas R. A. Cagas Sports and Business Center in Matti, Digos City.
During the program, College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes presented updates on the College’s performance for School Year 2025–2026 through an audio-visual presentation. The report covered developments in instruction, administration and governance, research and extension, and internationalization. She noted, “At Davao del Sur State College, we move forward with purpose, serving students and the province with excellence.”
The presentation also showed recent recognitions and accomplishments of the College, reflecting the work of faculty members, staff, and students.
In his message, Vice Governor Marc Douglas C. Cagas IV acknowledged the role of the College in supporting local development. He also raised concerns about current economic conditions, particularly the effects of global conflicts on resource availability.
He reminded offices and communities to be mindful of these challenges and encouraged practical responses. “Do more with less,” he said, suggesting that communities explore simple ways to adapt, including growing food and strengthening local food sources.
The activity reflects ongoing cooperation between the College and the Provincial Government. It also relates to Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through continued collaboration in programs and initiatives that support the province.
