DSSC Turns Over Vice Mayors’ Portraits to Digos City Government

Davao del Sur State College, through its Tudlok Visual Artists Guild, turned over eighteen charcoal portraits of the Vice Mayors of Digos to the City Government on October 29, 2026. The turnover took place at two in the afternoon, during the ceremonial installation and official opening of the Vice Mayors’ Gallery at the 3rd Floor Lobby of the New City Hall Building.

The Office of the City Vice Mayor invited College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes and the Tudlok guild as guests. Vice Mayor Atty. Johari G. Baña, other city officials, and the families and relatives of former Vice Mayors were also present.

The portraits came from a commission the Office of the City Vice Mayor made to the college. Eighteen Tudlok student artists each took one portrait, covering the Vice Mayors who served the municipality and, later, the city. The finished works now hang in the lobby.

The city set up the gallery to show the legislative milestones, historical leadership, and public service of its past and present leaders. The portraits are the work of Tudlok artists, and the college was there to hand them over.

The turnover supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by giving student artists a commission outside the classroom, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the preservation of Digos City’s local history, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the working relationship between the City Government of Digos and Davao del Sur State College.
