Davao del Sur State College hosted the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Advocacy Campaign with Cybersecurity Awareness on October 29, 2026, at the DSSC boardroom.
The campaign brought together faculty, staff, and personnel for a full-day program on the PNPKI and digital security. PNPKI provides the government’s secure framework for electronic transactions, digital signatures, and authentication, and the day covered how it works, its legal basis, common cyber threats, and what individuals and organizations can do to protect themselves online.
College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes welcomed the activity as timely for the college. “Security of our digital systems and transactions is not something we can leave to chance. This is exactly the kind of knowledge our people need, and I am glad DSSC is the venue for it today.”
The activity supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by building digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among the college community, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the college’s engagement with national digital infrastructure programs, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by strengthening the security of institutional digital transactions and governance systems.
