Davao del Sur State College formally received the completed Agriculture and DevComm Academic Building (Phase 2 of 2) on August 19, 2026, at the DSSC Main Campus, capping a construction project that started in March 2022.
Phase 1, titled the Establishment of a 3-Storey Green Technology Earthquake-Proof Agriculture and DevCom Academic Building, was implemented by DSSC itself, with NLC Construction and Services as contractor. Work began on March 14, 2022, and was completed on December 23, 2022. Phase 2 followed, with Equicon Engineering Services taking over as contractor on December 26, 2024.
The turnover ceremony on August 19 opened with a blessing before the formal handover. Representatives from the college, the implementing agencies, the contractors, end users, faculty, and staff attended.
The completed facility will serve the college’s agriculture and development communication programs. Students who enrolled this academic year will be among the first to use it.
The project supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improved academic facilities, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the college’s investment in its physical campus, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaboration between DSSC, the implementing agencies, and the contractors across both construction phases.
