DSSC Excels at PASUC XI-Regional Culture and Arts Festival

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) celebrates the success of its delegation at the 2026 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges Region XI Regional Culture and Arts Festival, held from March 5 to 8, at Davao del Norte State College, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

The Regional Culture and Arts Festival 2026 brought together students from different State Colleges and Universities from across the region, poised for a competition filled with culture, creativity, and artistic excellence.

The DSSC delegates returned with remarkable achievements, with seven out of twenty-one categories won as champions. Chuckie Mendoza clinched the championship in Kundiman, while Nathaniela Lodovice won the Pop Solo category, and the vocal duet of Noryel Kyle Manlangit and Raica Indanan took home first place. Joanan Berso triumphed in the Oral Interpretation of Poetry, Jerome Abellana in Storytelling, and the DSSC Chorale was named champion for Standard Chorale.

First runners-up went to Jolamre Sariol for Song Writing; Clent Michael Castillo, Jem Rich Olores, Chris Adine Lirasan, and John Rheupert Palpita for Quartet; Amadeo Uy for Persuasive Oratory; and DSSC Musikero for the Live Band. Second runners-up were Jaquelenn Monsanto for Dramatic Monologue in Filipino; Shane Angelie Balingit in the English Category; and Eljean Albarado in Deklamasyon. Third runners-up go to Daniel Nacua for Declamation; Anton James Ledesma for Essay Writing; the Teatro Davsuranon Cultural ensemble for Indigenous Dance; and Sam Daniel Bangay for Pencil Drawing. The following were also given recognition for their fourth-place runners-up. Jhey Sambrana and Lian Gabrielle Fernandez for Pandalawahang Pag Arte; Briejeth Joy Arocha and Chumby Dolle Kadosale for Duo Acting; Ivy Lorraine Liño for Dagliang Talumpati; Mary Ann Lim for Pagkukuwento; and Charls Torress for Oratory. Fifth runners-up recognition was awarded to Angela Dawn Balasan for In Situ Painting and Jenny Mae Maghanoy for Poster Making.

The DSSC community profoundly extends its congratulations to all delegates and coaches for the outstanding performance showcased. The college will continue to uphold its commitment to nurturing talent, promoting cultural appreciation, and upholding the values of artistic excellence.
