Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) held its regular Monday convocation on October 12, at the DSSC Gymnasium. Sponsored by the Learning Resource Center (LRC), the event brought together the college community for values restoration and institutional updates.
Maritess A. Rulona, MALit, College and Board Secretary, led the values restoration, focusing on “Holiness.” She discussed the importance of living a pure life dedicated and offered to God. She also emphasized that holiness is not superficial, as it is a call from God that applies wherever we are.
Meanwhile, Circulation Librarian Marjorie T. Jorillo, MLIS, presented the accomplishments of the LRC from the first to third quarter. She also highlighted the new library services and introduced various digital resources available through the LRC.
In her message, College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes discussed the submission of faculty reclassification. She also encouraged the DSSC community to serve with excellence and reflected on this week’s value focus, emphasizing that achieving Holiness requires a steadfast commitment to serving with integrity and dignity.
The Monday Convocation reinforces DSSC’s commitment to values formation, institutional communication, and continuous professional development. These efforts support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
