Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) recently participated in the 2026 Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc.(PAEPI) International Extension Conference held on April 14-17, 2026, at Tag Resort, Coron, Palawan.
With the theme “Next-Gen Extension: Driving Socioeconomic Change for Inclusive Community Development,” the conference was attended by extension practitioners and leaders from across the country and the ASEAN region to share research, innovations, and best practices in community development.
The event was hosted by Palawan State University-Coron Campus in partnership with the Asian Agro-Ecological University Network (AAUN), Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), and the PAA-Tamarind Chapter.
DSSC was represented by the Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) Director Dr. Queenie Lyn G. Almerez, Business Enterprise Office(BEO) Director Dr. Eric E. Rellon, Regional Coffee Innovation Center (RCIC)Director Dr. Redgie Patagoc, Asst. Prof. Roel Apas Jr., and Asst. Prof. Rhea Perito.
A highlight of the participation was the recognition of Dr. Patagoc’s research paper titled “Coffee for LIFE: An Integrated Extension Model for Livelihood Creation, Climate Action and Farmer Empowerment in Davao del Sur,” which was awarded 3rd Best Paper during the conference.
DSSC’s participation in the conference shows the college’s commitment to strengthening extension programs and fostering partnerships that contribute to inclusive and sustainable community development.
It also showcases the college’s support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1 for No Poverty, SDG 8 for Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 13 for Climate Action, and SDG 17 for Partnerships for the Goals.
