Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) formalized a series of partnership agreements during a Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony held on February 19, 2026 at the DSSC Boardroom. The activity gathered institutional leaders and partner agencies from local, national, and international sectors to strengthen collaboration in instruction, research, extension, and global engagement.
Among the agreements signed was an online Memorandum of Understanding between DSSC and the Guizhou Examination Site of Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Language and Beijing HanDeZhiXing International Education Technology Development Co., Ltd., China. The partnership opens opportunities for academic cooperation, faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and the development of a proposed “Chinese Language + Vocational Skills” Center.
Under the Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities Program, DSSC also entered into partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Hugpong ng Mananagat sa Badiang Association (HUMABAAS), and the Local Government Unit of Digos for the implementation of the Modernizing Fish Drying for Smarter Communities project. The initiative aims to enhance local livelihood systems through technology-driven solutions that promote efficiency, sustainability, and economic resilience among fisherfolk communities.
The LIFE Behind Bars Program (Phase 2) was formalized in collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – Digos City Male and Female Dormitories and Digos City National High School – Teachers and Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DiCNHS-TEMPUCO). The program continues to support education and rehabilitation efforts for persons deprived of liberty.
Kiblawan Multi-Purpose Cooperative will work with DSSC on regenerative agriculture initiatives integrating artificial intelligence to scale up key commodity crops in Davao del Sur. Similarly, in Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz, the College will pursue regenerative agriculture and artificial intelligence applications aimed at sustaining mangrove ecosystems and strengthening resilient coastal communities.
The Department of Education – Davao del Sur Division formalized the implementation of the EMPOWEREd Program to enhance educational support systems across schools in the province.
Barangay Local Government Units of Colorado and Igpit, Digos City, will collaborate with DSSC under the Program for Educating and Enriching Resilient Communities (PEER), including the Building-Up Learners for Inclusive Growth (BULIG) Project, to support inclusive and community-based development initiatives.
Resource-sharing partnerships were likewise strengthened with the Department of Migrant Workers and Wimler Partnership for Social Progress to advance student awareness on the protection, rights, and welfare of overseas Filipino workers and their families.
The agreements work together to support multiple Sustainable Development Goals which include SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
DSSC, through its strengthened alliances, reaffirms its continuing commitment to forging strategic partnerships that advance institutional development, promote innovation, and cultivate inclusive community growth grounded in shared and sustainable impact.
