The DSSC Tudlok Visual Artists Guild joined the celebration of National Arts Month 2026 on February 16, 2026 at the Provincial Museum located at the Douglas R.A. Cagas Sports and Business Center in Barangay Matti, Digos City. The guild participated as one of the invited organizations and served as the official documentation team for the event, upon invitation of the Provincial Tourism Development and Culture Promotions Office.
This year’s celebration carries the theme “ANI ng SINING: Katotohanan at Giting.” The opening activity gathered artists, cultural workers, educators, and stakeholders from different parts of the province. The event marks the start of a series of activities scheduled throughout February, including an arts exhibit and bazaar, live sketching and painting sessions, and performances featuring artists from across Davao del Sur.
Governor Yvonne Roña Cagas attended the opening program and recognized the local groups and artists present in the event. In her message, the province’s various cultural expressions must receive acknowledgment because they serve as vital components for developing local tourism. The Provincial Museum plans to increase its collection by acquiring new artifacts and artworks from different sources.
The activity confirmed backing for community artists and cultural workers who help maintain the cultural traditions of the province. DSSC Tudlok participated in the event helping to showcase the artistic and cultural heritage of the province.
The participation relates to Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the promotion of cultural heritage and local identity. The connection to Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) exists because the organization supports cultural events that drive local tourism. The organization achieves its goals through community engagement and partnerships between the College and local government which fulfill both Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
