Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through the College of Business Education and Governance (CBEG), successfully launched the ‘Agriventure Startup Booth’ on May 4, 2026, at the DSSC Campus grounds.
The Agriventure Startup Booth is an agri-technopreneurship startup that showcases student-led agribusiness innovations with the aim of providing students with a platform to apply their knowledge in agribusiness through the development of innovative and market-driven products. By simulating a real-world business environment, the activity enhances students’ entrepreneurial competencies, encourages value-adding agricultural resources, and promotes sustainable and competitive agribusiness ventures.
The main participants were composed of students from the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, particularly those enrolled in the Technopreneurship course. These students featured various ventures which included Marang Muffins, Caroochee, Polvo Bites, Duck Pastil, and Squash Malunggay Cupcakes. Each showcases the creativity, innovation, and responsiveness of the students when it comes to market trends and local resource utilization.
These ventures were critiqued by the Director for Instruction, Dr. Amelie Trinidad, CBEG Dean Dr. Zandro P. Ibañez, and Dr. Gracila Caballero, alongside CBEG faculty members and other CBEG students.
Showcasing the importance of integrating agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship in preparing students to meaningfully contribute to sustainable development and economic growth, DSSC is also showing its support to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2 for Zero Hunger, SDG 4 for Quality Education, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9 for Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
