Four education students from Davao del Sur State College called on College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes at the Office of the President on June 15, 2026, following their return from a teaching immersion abroad.
The students, Ms. Niña Jane D. Repollo and Ms. Kary Mae P. Reillo of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and Ms. Jody Marich G. Villaluz and Ms. Sanrose T. Padua of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education major in Science, completed their practicum at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) in Indonesia from May 11 to June 5, 2026. SEA-Teacher Programme Coordinator Instr. Mary Lesley Jane R. Layson accompanied them during the visit.
The courtesy call was part of the post-immersion activities required under the SEA-Teacher Programme, a SEAMEO initiative that sends pre-service education students to complete a one-month teaching practicum in another country in the region. The program focuses on students majoring in Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies, with the aim of broadening their teaching practice, building cross-cultural communication, and strengthening their English proficiency.
This was the 11th batch of participants to complete the program. For DSSC, their participation reflects the college’s ongoing effort to give its students experience beyond the classroom and outside the country.
