Davao del Sur State College formalized its partnership with the Tibolo Integrated Farmers Workers Association on June 16, 2026, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Tibolo, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
The agreement supports a project titled “Regenerative Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence in Scaling-up Key Commodity Crops in Davao del Sur.” DSSC, TIFWA, and FarmTech Agriland Corporation are working together on the project, which combines research, technology, and sustainable farming methods to improve agricultural productivity in the area.
After the signing, members of the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences, joined by the FarmTech Agriland Corporation team, conducted area mapping, soil sampling, and farm layout work at two sites: the coffee farms of TIFWA in Sta. Cruz and the Bagobo Tagabawa Fair Trade Marketing Cooperative in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.
Members of the College of Business Education and Governance, meanwhile, began collecting baseline data through farm profiling and an assessment of both traditional and digital farming practices, including a cost-benefit analysis. That information will be used to guide how the project’s interventions are carried out and measured going forward.
College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes led the DSSC delegation. Also present were Program Leader Dr. Alexander M. Campaner, FarmTech Agriland Corporation Research and Development Director Mr. Genaro Valencia and his team, TIFWA President Mr. Rey Antic, TIFWA Cooperative Manager Jeciry Antic, cooperative members, and other project stakeholders.
The collaboration is aligned with SDG 2 on Zero Hunger, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 13 on Climate Action, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.
