The Regenerative Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence in Sustaining Mangrove Ecosystem for Resilient and Innovative Coastal Communities in Davao del Sur program conducted a data gathering activity on September 11, 2026 at Barangay Tuban and Barangay Tagabuli in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
The activity involved direct LGU coordination, stakeholder mobilization, and baseline ecological and socio-economic assessments. The collected findings will establish the baseline data needed for ongoing research documentation, monitoring and evaluation, and the future development of AI-driven interventions and community extension projects.
The activity was part of the Davao del Sur State College extension and research program entitled “Regenerative Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence in Sustaining Mangrove Ecosystem for Resilient and Innovative Coastal Communities in Davao del Sur”. It was attended by Dr. Alexander M. Campaner, program leader, project members from the College of Business Education and Governance (CBEG), College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS), College of Information and Digital Sciences (CIDS and DSSC-Sta. Cruz Extension Campus.
This initiative supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by sustaining agriculture and granting resilience to it, to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the use of artificial intelligence, SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by enhancing the collaboration of industry partners and Barangay Local Government Unit, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through the strengthening of rural enterprises, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by designing innovative coastal communities.
