DSSC Opens Classes for Academic Year 2026-2027

Davao del Sur State College opened its classes for Academic Year 2026-2027 on August 10, 2026. A week in, enrollment has reached 6,042 students as of August 17.

The figure covers students across the college’s programs and campuses. The number moved steadily through the first week as late enrollees continued to come in, keeping the Admissions and Registrar’s offices busy well past opening day.

For the college, the start of a new academic year means classrooms fill up again, faculty return to their courses, and the work the institution is built around picks up where it left off.

The 6,042 students now enrolled at DSSC come from different parts of Davao del Sur and beyond. The number will keep climbing in the days ahead, but what it stands for stays the same: another year of people choosing to invest in their own education.

For the freshmen, the first days were made easier by DSSC Start-Up: A Guide to College Life, an orientation program that walked new students through campus life, including a campus tour and other sessions designed to help them find their footing. One student put it plainly: “I was nervous coming in, but the orientation made everything feel less unfamiliar. By the end of the campus tour, I already knew where to go.”

The opening of classes supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by marking the beginning of another year of formal instruction for thousands of students in Davao del Sur and the surrounding communities.
