Davao del Sur State College, through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Culture, Arts, and Humanities Development Research Center, held an orientation for the proposed establishment of a Toastmasters International Club on campus on October 8, 2026, at the DSSC Boardroom.
The proposed club is envisioned as a campus-wide learning space open to faculty, students, administrative personnel, and staff who wish to strengthen their communication, public speaking, confidence, and leadership skills through Toastmasters’ structured learning-by-doing approach.
Toastmasters International provided the speakers and handled the program, while DSSC provided the venue. The two-hour session introduced the Toastmasters program to interested members of the college community and laid out the next steps. Participants who wish to move forward may form the core group needed to complete the chartering process, which requires a minimum of twenty members.
The initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by offering a structured pathway for developing communication and leadership skills among members of the DSSC community, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the college’s engagement with Toastmasters International in bringing its programs to a state college campus in Davao del Sur.
