Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) Department, conducted a monitoring activity on April 24, 2026, to assess the performance and sustainability of portable biogas digester technology among partner communities around Davao del Sur.
The activity is a follow-up evaluation of the operational efficiency and long term viability of the technology following its deployment. After careful assessment, results revealed a positive response from beneficiary communities, with users consistently utilizing the biogas system for their daily cooking needs.
This system now helps improve local waste management practices, as organic waste materials are now being converted into useful and sustainable energy sources.
The activity was led by ABE Dean Engr. Eduardo F. Aquino, alongside Department Chairperson Engr. Razel Allan R. Valleser and CET Extension Coordinator Engr. Loradel Llenado. They were joined by faculty members Engr. Aldrin Bacalsp and Engr. Rey Amante.
They visited key beneficiary sites, including Purok Palm Spring Magsaysay Davao del Sur (PPSBHRA), SSVIIFA in Igpit, Digos City, and BOCOFA in Malalag.
This activity supports the College’s efforts to promote practical and sustainable solutions in partner communities. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
