The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) community gathered to celebrate the retirement tribute for Prof. Arlyn J. Omboy for her 36 years of service as a faculty member of the College of Teacher Education (CTED) under the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Department. Colleagues, family, friends, and former students who are thankful for the wonderful journey of Prof. Omboy as an educator attended the event.
In her keynote address, Prof. Omboy looked back on her years of commitment and passion in teaching, mentoring, and serving. Heartfelt messages recognized her kindness, generosity, and lasting influence on the DSSC community. Many memories she made were celebrated by attendees through inspiring tributes, personal stories, and a special musical presentation.
DSSC President, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Omboy for her contribution to the College and for the legacy of excellence and compassion that she leaves behind. Prof. Omboy was awarded a plaque of Recognition and the Collegeโs commemorative tokens for her exemplary service.
Her selfless dedication to teaching and passion for education will continue to inspire generations of students and will be an indelible part of the DSSC legacy.
The tribute showed support for Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by recognizing excellence in teaching and a continuous lifelong commitment to education, and referenced SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), honoring individuals who helped the ongoing progress and continued development of the institution.
