Strengthening campus preparedness for potential earthquakes, Davao del Sur State College facilitated a campus-wide earthquake drill held today, September 23 at 3:00 pm.
Employees and students actively participated in the drill, demonstrating proper emergency response procedures, including the “duck, cover, and hold” technique and orderly evacuation to designated areas.
Prior to the drill, an orientation was conducted for all drill committees and designated drill leaders to ensure proper coordination and facilitate orderly implementation of the activity.
Also, members from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), the Philippine Red Cross, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) were present during the activity to observe the conduct of the drill.
Through its participation, DSSC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening disaster awareness and preparedness within the campus community which also supports the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which advocates for safer and more resilient communities.
