BRGY. DAWIS, DIGOS CITY, DAVAO DEL SUR – Faculty members and students of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) participated in a Coastal Clean-Up Drive on September 19 in coordination with the City Government of Digos, in celebration of International Coastal Clean-Up 2026.
As part of the Civil Service Anniversary celebration, the DSSC Extension Office took part in the activity through Lingkod Bayani: DSSC Extension in Action, bringing together faculty members and students from the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers-DSSC Student Chapter in a shared effort to collect and properly segregate coastal waste.
The activity was joined by various government agencies, organizations, and community stakeholders, highlighting collective responsibility in protecting coastal areas and promoting proper waste management.
Continuing its participation in the environmental initiatives of the City Government of Digos, DSSC is also set to join a tree-planting activity on September 26 in Napan Busay, Brgy. Goma, Digos City.
This activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
