DSSC Conducts FAITH Program Orientation

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) through the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS) conducted an online orientation on the Food Always in the Home (FAITH) program, aimed at promoting sustainable food production practices among employees, on April 10, 2026 via Google Meet.

The session was led by Instr. Jay Ramonito H. Escabillas, MExEd, who discussed key concepts of vertical and urban gardening, which included basic management practices applicable to household settings. The orientation focused on practical and accessible techniques that employees can adopt for home-based food production.

Faculty and staff members participated in an open forum where they were given the opportunity to raise questions and share insights related to gardening practice and food sustainability. The activity encouraged knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas, and clarifications of concerns regarding the implementation of the FAITH program at home.

The program is in support of the efforts to strengthen household food security and promote responsible use of available space and resources in the midst of worldwide chaos and crisis. The employees’ roles in the FAITH program align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals particularly SDG 2 for Zero Hunger, and SDG 12 for Responsible Consumption and Production.
