With the aim of empowering personnel with a deeper understanding of administrative rules, workplace integrity, and ethics in public service, Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) personnel from all campuses convened for a seminar-workshop yesterday, September 17, at Viewpoint Hotel, Digos City.
257 teaching and non-teaching personnel gathered to participate in the event, which was organized by the Legal Office.
The seminar-workshop was divided into three sessions. The first session focused on the 2025 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service (RACCS). Offenses under the 2025 RACCS, particularly violations that public servants may knowingly or unknowingly commit, were also discussed during the second session. Meanwhile, the last session highlighted the procedures that agencies should follow in handling administrative cases.
Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, the College President, encouraged the participants to listen attentively and actively participate in the discussion, emphasizing how these practices reflect the institution’s SMART values.
“Administrative rules tell us the boundaries of our actions, workplace policies remind us to respect the dignity and rights of others, and ethical standards challenge us to do what is right. Not simply because we might be held accountable, but because integrity is part of who we should be as public servants,” she expressed in her opening remarks.
The seminar-workshop concluded with an open forum, allowing participants to raise questions and clarify the proper procedures that agencies should follow in handling administrative cases.
The event served as one of the highlights in the institution’s celebration of the 126th Civil Service Anniversary, supporting SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through the promotion of accountability, integrity, and ethical practices in public service.
