Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), in partnership with Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), University of Mindanao (UM), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region XI, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XI, participated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit 2026 on September 17, via Zoom teleconference.
Dr. Ana Marie J. Matalines, Director of International Affairs and Relations Office, represented the college and actively participated in the event.
This virtual summit brought members of the academic community to drive impactful progress toward the United Nations SDGs. It also provided the participants an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about sustainability, social influence, innovation, and higher education institutions’ roles in addressing regional and global issues.
Participants explored practical strategies that can convert academic knowledge, research, creativity, and community involvement into projects that support sustainable development.
For DSSC, the summit reinforced its continuous commitment to integrating sustainability into its academic and institutional programs that are engaged, advanced, socially accountable, and responsive to the needs of future generations. This initiative supports SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) strengthening international collaboration and creating opportunities for meaningful exchange and shared growth.
