Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) completed its hosting of the 11th Batch of the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project (Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia) in October 2026, with four Indonesian pre-service teachers finishing their immersion, classroom teaching, and exit conference over the course of the month.
The batch opened with a cultural immersion in Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City, on October 3, where the group visited the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe. On October 9, they toured Davao City, stopping at People’s Park, the National Museum, Magsaysay Park, and the Japanese Tunnel. They also visited the Indonesian Consul General and joined DSSC’s United Nations Day celebration. A third tour on October 16 took them to Kidapawan City and Makilala.
The teaching portion wrapped up on October 22 and 23. Rayya held her final classroom demonstration at San Miguel Elementary School. Thoriq, Mutya, and Putri had theirs at Digos City National High School the next day, followed by an on-site exit conference.
On October 25, the group visited Davao Global Township and Roxas Night Market. The program officially closed on October 26 with a final exit conference via Zoom, joining UNISSULA representatives, cooperating school heads, DSSC mentors, administrators, and faculty for a closing reflection on Batch 11.
The program contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-border teacher education and the continued collaboration between DSSC and UNISSULA under the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project.
