DSSC Takes Part in PEMNet’s First National Extension Conference

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through its Extension and Community Services Office, is participating in the Philippine Extension Managers Network, Inc. (PEMNet) 1st National Extension Conference 2026, held from October 27 to 30 at Hue Hotels and Resorts Boracay in Malay, Aklan.

The conference brings together extension leaders, practitioners, and higher education institutions from across the country to discuss approaches to community development. This year’s theme is “HEIs at the Forefront of Transformative Extension: Advancing Evidence-Based, Inclusive, Sustainable, and Resilient Community Development.”

DSSC is represented by Extension and Community Services Director Dr. Queenie Lyn G. Almerez, Dr. Roel D. Apas Jr., Eric E. Rellon, Rhoda M. Hilis, Dominador Maquillan, Steve T. Corsino, Ma. Erwynnah E. Caraoa, and Rhea Mae L. Perito.

The delegation is taking part in plenary and parallel technical sessions. Dr. Almerez is serving as a discussant in the Extension Directors’ Roundtable, while Dr. Apas is moderating an open forum.

The event serves as a platform for DSSC to share their experience with other organizations and deliberate on methods to make extension services more suited to the needs of the community.

The event also contributes to the achieving of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 (Quality Education) through knowledge sharing between higher learning institutions and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) as it brings together various partners working in extension.
