


Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through its International Affairs and Relations Office, has joined the Holy Cross of Davao College ASEAN-European Studies (HCDC-IAES) and International Relations Officers Network of Region XI (IRON XI) on February 24, 2026, at the Holy Cross of Davao College, Davao City.
The special lecture was entitled “Religion, Holiness & Environment and Sustainability: A study on Sacred Groves in Bengal Knowledge System”. It was delivered by guest speaker Dr. Tapas Pal of Raiganj University, India. Dr. Pal has emphasized the sacredness of ecological spaces that serve as community-protected areas, demonstrating the intersection of spirituality, indigenous knowledge, and sustainable environmental practices in a global context. A perspective that aligns with DSSC’s focus on sustainable development and cultural heritage preservation.
The college was represented by Instr. Neil Shane Ngojo, MPA, and Dr. Raphson Elesterio actively participated in the open forum and networking sessions, paving a way for DSSC to connect with other institutions in the region and abroad.
The lecture established international partnerships that shared educational responsibility to resolve present ecological issues through research and cultural exchange programs aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
