Region XI finished 4th Runner-Up overall at the PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 held in Iloilo City.
The group was made up of student-artists from different state universities and colleges in the region, including Davao del Sur State College, Davao del Norte State College, University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao Oriental State University, Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology, and Davao de Oro State College.
For DSSC, the trip to the national festival came after the PASUC Regional Culture and Arts Festival (RCAF) 2026 in Panabo City. That earlier event determined who would represent the region, so moving on to NCAF was already a step forward for the student-artists.
At the national level, participants performed in different categories. Some focused on music, others on dance and visual presentations. The competition was tight, with entries coming from different regions across the country.
Finishing 4th Runner-Up, Region XI placed among the top groups this year. For the students, it meant going through two levels of competition—regional and national—and still managing to stay competitive.
The experience also gave them time to work with other students in the region, adjust to a bigger stage, and perform in front of a wider audience.
The participation relates to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), as it supports student development and cultural activities.
