DSSC Student-Artists Earn Recognition at PASUC NCAF 2026

Two students from Davao del Sur State College were among the winners at the PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 held in Iloilo City.

Chuckie Mendoza, representing Region XI, placed 3rd Runner-Up in the Kundiman category. Nathaniela Lodovice also finished 3rd Runner-Up in the Pop Solo category. Both competed with students from different state universities and colleges across the country.

Their performances came after weeks of practice with their coaches, Janus Arthur Acebes, Catherine Noco Mangubat, and Christine Mae Mangubat, who worked with them during preparation.

For the two students, joining the competition meant stepping outside the campus and performing in a larger setting. It was also a chance to meet other student-artists and see how others approach the same craft.

The results add to the College’s participation in national cultural events. It also shows how students continue to take part in activities that develop their skills beyond the classroom.

The recognition relates to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting student development, and Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through cultural participation.
